INTRODUCTION, THESIS, & LARGER CONTEXT

For my web-case, I would like to tackle the issue of food insecurity and food accessibility in the city of Boston. This city has often experienced an inability to provide adequate amounts of food for its citizens and their families, and this plan has the ability to help combat that.

How can we expand upon the methods that have already been taken against food insecurity in Boston? How can both the local community and the city officials contribute to the cause?

What does this mean for sustainability?

  • The rates of those who go without food in today’s economy are at an all-time high and are projected to only worsen without interference. This implementation and intervention that will become a resource for not just today’s adults and children, but hopefully those for years to come.
  • Those in the city who feel unseen and unheard will be able to know that there are people who care to help them in their time of need.
  • There is enough food and resources for everyone in the world to live within their own means; meaning that no one should go with less or more. This will lessen the feeling of inequality / unfairness that citizens who experience food insecurity feel watching those who have the means to have access to amounts of food that are above their means.
